Chousein Amet is the 2025 Swabian Champion – Congratulations!
Strong performance from Chousein Amet in Langweid
Two Mindelheimers also took part in the adult district individual championships Swabia South and Swabia North 2025 in Langweid and showed excellent performances. In a strong field of participants, both Chousein Amet and Simon Hacker were initially able to successfully assert themselves in the preliminary round. In preliminary round group 1, Chousein Amet narrowly prevailed in a group of three and secured a place in the knockout round. Club colleague Simon Hacker also impressed in his group of four with three wins and reached the next round as group leader.
The final round then took place in the knockout system and in the round of 16 Simon Hacker met Björn Reis (TV Dillingen) and Chousein Amet met Tim Schröppel from TSV Nördlingen. With a committed performance, both won 3-1 and were in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, Simon Hacker was unable to prevail against Jérôme Fischer (TSV Gersthofen) and clearly lost in three sets 0:3. Amet, on the other hand, continued to be in top form and won his match against Roman Hutfluss (SV Untermeitingen) 3-1. In the semifinals there was a high-class duel between Chousein Amet and Jérôme Fischer. After an intense exchange of blows and temporarily trailing by 2:1, Amet was finally able to narrowly win the decisive fifth set with 11:9 and celebrate their place in the final. In the second semi-final, Christian Wengenmeier beat Andrzej Plucik (TSV Seeg-Hopferau-Eisenberg) 3-1.
The final was Chousein Amet (TSV Mindelheim) against Christian Wengenmeier (SV Adelsried). After initial nervousness and losing the first set, Amet got better and better into the game, turned the game around with concentrated attacking play and finally won the following three sets with 11:9, 11:5 and 11:8. With this well-deserved success, he brought another Swabian championship title to Mindelheim for a long time.
Exciting duel at the 2025 Senior Club Championships in singles and doubles
The TSV Mindelheim table tennis club championships took place on October 3rd. In exciting and hard-fought matches, the best doubles and, of course, the best singles player were determined.
The traditional opening match saw the club doubles champions determined – as usual, by random draw. In the “everyone against everyone” format, favorites Tom Handloser and Timo Schütt prevailed and secured the title. Chousein Amet and Roland Arnold took second place, followed by Marc Justra and Lars Buchholz in third.
The individual competitions then followed, initially played in a group format using the Swiss system. After exciting preliminary round matches, the four best-placed players qualified for the semifinals. There, Tom Handloser, the undefeated first-place finisher in the preliminary round, faced fourth-placed Simon Hacker, and Chousein Amet (second) faced Timo Schütt (third).
In two exciting matches, Tom Handloser and Chousein Amet prevailed and reached the final. In the match for third place, Timo Schütt prevailed against Simon Hacker. Tom Handloser ultimately won the final with ease, crowning himself the 2025 club champion.

Our new outfit successfully inaugurated at the Bibercup 2025
The long summer break is coming to an end, and the first preparatory tournaments have taken place. At one of the traditional tournaments in the north of Augsburg, the Bibercup, winners were determined in four performance categories with two-player teams. First, there was a group phase, then a knockout round with quarterfinals, semifinals, and finally the final.
We had two teams competing at the premiere of the new outfit of the table tennis department. In the top division (1530 – 3000 TTR points), Tom Handloser/Chousein They advanced through the group stage with two dominant victories (4-1 and 5-0) and a narrow defeat (2-3). After a narrow 3-2 victory in the quarterfinals, they were eliminated in the semifinals by an equally narrow 2-3 defeat against the eventual winners, the Baden-Württemberg regional league team TB Beinstein. They then comfortably won the match for third place with a 4-1 victory.
The duo Simon Hacker/Timo Schütt competed in the second-highest division (1395 – 1529 TTR points). Undefeated with three wins in the group stage, they defeated their opponents 5-0 in both the quarterfinals and semifinals, comfortably reaching the final of the Bibercup 2025. The match couldn’t have been more thrilling. The first singles and doubles matches narrowly lost to their opponents 11-9 in the deciding set, while Timo Schütt secured a comfortable 2-0 victory in the second singles match. The overall score was 2-1 before Simon Hacker equalized with a similarly comfortable 2-0, meaning the final singles match had to decide the match. Unfortunately, Mindelheim’s luck wasn’t on their side, and both sets went to Gersthofen by the narrowest possible score of 11-9.
We have a new department head and deputy... July 2025
The intro by department head Roland Arnold began with a review of the past year, leaving many in attendance with a smile on their faces. It was the most successful year since the department was founded, with an incredible six championship titles, one runner-up finish, the district cup, the regional cup, the association cup, and third place in the Bavaria cup. Hosting the 40th Epiphany two-team tournament, as well as the district championships with 180 participants, was another highlight. And last but not least, the team won the 34th traditional city cup tournament to round off the season. A year packed with highlights and numerous awards from the Bavarian Table Tennis Association also followed. Members of the department were honored with certificates of honor and the BTTV performance pin for their many years of service. For 50 years these were Karlheinz Simmet, Folker Königbauer, Roman Kretzinger, Wolfgang Axmann, Helmut Schiegg and for 30 years Ulrike Rohrmoser.
The last item on the agenda was arguably the most important one. Last year, the previous department head, Roland Arnold, and his deputy, Robert Haydu, had already expressed their desire to hand over the position to younger hands. Since then, an internal search for a new duo had been underway and they finally found one in one of the most recent additions, Simon Hacker and Timo Schütt. They were both eager to take on the challenging task and stood for election. But first, the first chairman of the entire association, Mitko Pertemov, took the opportunity to say a few words to the outgoing department head. He really had to go into great detail to properly highlight the decades-long commitment of both of them. He also emphasized that, as the current first chairman, he himself benefits from the guidelines that Roland Arnold had introduced long before him as first chairman of the entire association. He thanked them for their exceptional voluntary commitment over many decades and concluded by praising the willingness of the two new candidates for the positions.
In his final official act, the current department head, Roland Arnold, asked Mitko Pertemov to serve as election supervisor, a position he gladly accepted. Although both candidates have only been with the department for about two years, they have essentially been “fully integrated,” as the saying goes, since their first training session. Simon Hacker and Timo Schütt nevertheless took the opportunity to sketch a short self-portrait and officially introduce themselves. The subsequent vote was hardly surprising: Simon Hacker was unanimously elected department head, as was Timo Schütt unanimously elected deputy. Election supervisor Mitko Pertemov, as well as Roland Arnold and Robert Haydu, congratulated both on their election, wished them much success and luck, and assured them of their assistance during the initial period if needed.
Our department head Roland Arnold was bid farewell by the new department duo and the board member Mitko Pertemov of the entire club.
His deputy, Robert Haydu, who had reliably held this position for 25 years, also handed over his post.

The winning team of TSV Mindelheim
Local hero Simon Hacker wins BTTV Bavarian TT-Race tournaments
As part of the BTTV Bavarian TT-Race tournaments, the TT department of TSV Mindelheim hosted two tournaments in this series for the first time on May 17th. The tournaments are played in the “Swiss System,” which is similar to the “everyone against everyone” system, but not all rounds are played. At 10 a.m., 12 participants started the first tournament of the day, including local favorites Simon Hacker and Timo Schütt, who had also organized the tournament. While Timo Schütt got off to a somewhat rocky start, Simon Hacker’s performance went smoothly and he was declared the winner after six rounds. The top three finishers: 1. Simon Hacker (TSV Mindelheim), 2. Sebastian Panizza (Arena Augsburg), 3. Harald Eisenlauer (TSV Burtenbach).
The second tournament of the day began at 2 p.m., and the fit Mindelheim native was back in action. This time, his opponents demanded significantly more of him, and he quickly found himself 2-0 down in the first two matches. However, with utmost concentration, he was able to turn both games around, winning both 3-2. He won the next three matches comfortably 3-0, and after another narrow 3-2 victory, he emerged as the overall winner of the second tournament. The top three finishers: 1. Simon Hacker (TSV Mindelheim), 2. Manfred Migsch (SV Weiler), 3. Axel Handlos (SG Scheidegg).
2024/25 season with record-breaking results – 4 league titles, one runner-up, one third place, 5 promoted teams
Christian Peter, Chousein Amet, Marc Justra, Thomas Handloser
Undefeated with 40:0 points and an incredible game ratio of 177:23, the “first team” lives up to its role as favorites in the District Class A and will compete in the District League next season. The excellent record of all teams is easily evident from the game ratio, but one record stands out. Thomas Handloser didn’t lose a single game in the round (40:0), is undefeated in all competitions for a year, and with his doubles partner Marc Justra, has a record of 18:1. The successful team played almost the entire round with its regular lineup, but had to use substitutes, as Simon Hacker, Roman Kretzinger, and Folker Königbauer remained undefeated.
Martin Wenzel, Simon Hacker, Timo Schütt, Roman Kretzinger
Starting the season as the top favorites along with TTC Hausen, the team stumbled in their very first match against their own “third” team, who played in the same league. The burden of this defeat haunted the “second” team throughout the season, and after both games against TTC Hausen ended in a draw, they were always two points behind Hausen until the penultimate matchday. Then Hausen suffered a surprise loss in Warmisried, meaning the two teams ended the season on the same number of points (32:4). The outstanding second half of the season, with six 10:0 wins and two 9:1 wins, as well as the draw, secured the second team the championship title with just a four-game lead.
Folker Königbauer, Wolfgang Schobeß, Jim Simmet, Wolf-Dieter Pechhold
With a strong preliminary round and only a narrow defeat (4:6 in Hausen), the team led by captain Wolfgang Schobeß secured the runner-up title at halftime, trailing the number one spot by just one point. To strengthen the second team, the personnel carousel was switched on during the halftime break, and the “third” team began the second half of the season with a changed lineup. Despite losing their best players, the “over-60s” team (with the exception of “youngster” Wolfgang Schobeß) put in a committed performance and comfortably finished third in the final table. It’s worth mentioning that all of the players also helped out in the second team, thus earning them the championship title.
Wolfgang Axmann, Franz Hetzl, Eduard Alf, Helmut Schiegg missing
Undefeated in the preliminary round and comfortably leading the table with only one draw and the autumn champions, the fourth team also suffered a setback at halftime, losing their star player Timo Schütt to the second team. The second half of the season was accordingly bumpy, with three narrow defeats (4:6 each) against their toughest opponents. The team finally managed to cross the finish line with a narrow 6:4 victory in the final game, claiming the championship title. The outstanding doubles record of 32:4 wins over the entire season is certainly a key factor in this.
Arno Müller, Thimo Böhm, Lars Buchholz, Matthäus Beyrle
The 5th team was also undefeated in the preliminary round and won the autumn championship. Unfortunately, they were unable to compensate for the loss of their best player in the second half of the season. They suffered numerous narrow losses in the second half of the season and ultimately secured the runner-up title, which also qualifies them for promotion, only by virtue of the better goal difference.
Front row: Roland Arnold, Ulrike Rohrmoser, Helga Welz, Ufuk Ünsal and back row: Jeremias Kobold, Marc Mayer, Peter Weyh-Immerz, Ulrich Schrauder – Ute Ritter missing
A confident and undefeated team in the preliminary round, captain Roland Arnold’s team clinched the autumn championship. In the second half of the season, the sixth-place team left no doubt that they would be at the top of the table at the end of the season. After the 5:5 draw in the penultimate match against second-placed Wiedergeltingen, the championship was a done deal, and the only defeat in the final game could not change that. Uli Rohrmoser, who played an outstanding season with an individual record of 18:3, can be confidently credited as the guarantor of the championship title and the associated promotion.
The first team and its cup history in the 2024/25 season...
After victories at the district, regional, and association levels, our first team advanced to the state finals in Wunsiedel, Upper Franconia, not far from the Czech border. SV Holenbrunn hosted the Bayern Cup tournament. You can find the full report, more information, details, photos, and videos about the cup adventure on a separate page.
The 2024 season ends with the championship title for both youth teams...
In the youth table tennis leagues, there is no usual season with a preliminary round (before Christmas/autumn) and a second half (after Christmas/spring). Instead, two seasons are played per year, one complete season before and after Christmas.

Departmental meeting of TSV Mindelheim in a special format...
So that everyone has the opportunity to get to know the other departments and sports of TSV Mindelheim, the meetings were moved to the respective sports facilities of the departments. This time it was table tennis and after the official session everyone had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills with the small ball in a small competition. TT youth coach Folker Königbauer had prepared three games in which points were up for grabs.
In the first game everyone had to try to return 10 balls played by a TT robot and in game 2 the balls had to be played into opposite nets with their own serve or hit 2 targets. 1 point was awarded for each hit in the two games and at this point most of the participants were still tied. The last game was about shooting cans. These had numbers printed on them that could be won as points. Similar to can shooting at the fair, these had to be hit with TT balls. In addition to aiming accuracy, a certain sharpness was also required to shoot the tin cans off the plate, because these were the only things that counted. The “outdoor pool table tennis players” used their experience here and scored well, although sometimes with a bit of luck.
In the end everyone had fun and the top three points were presented with a certificate and medals in gold (Mitko Pertemov/board), silver (Simon Tuglu/badminton) and bronze (Caro Eckers/swimming), honored by the deputy head of the TT department, Robert Haydu.

THE TT DEPARTMENT OF TSV MINDELHEIM ORGANIZED THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS 2024
On the weekend of October 26th/27th, the TT elite from all over Swabia met for the district championships in Mindelheim. With 180 participants (women and men), singles, doubles and mixed doubles were played on 16 tables in all performance classes. After group mode in the preliminary round, the best 2 in each group then went into the single knockout system. While the favorite Markus Bott dominated the competition in the premier class, in the men’s B class a 12-year-old really shook up the team…

The club champions of the 2024/25 season
This year’s Mindelheim table tennis champions were searched for in fair and exciting games and the club champions in doubles were initially determined in the traditionally drawn pairings. In the “everyone against everyone” system, the favorites emerged relatively quickly and with the pairing of Thomas Handloser/Marc Justra, the best placed in the rankings also prevailed in the end with a flawless record of 5:0 wins and 15:2 sets. The third-placed Wolf-Dieter Pechhold and Christian Peter showed a very strong performance in the game for the runner-up title and still had to give way to Chousein Amet and Simon Hacker after a balanced 5-set game. The performance of Timo Schütt and Matthäus Beyrle was remarkable, as they were “supposedly” the weakest doubles (based on ranking position), but still left two renowned doubles behind them.
The individual competition was of course characterized by the returnees Thomas Handloser and Chousein Amet, who after a few years in higher leagues, at times even association leagues, are now playing for TSV Mindelheim again. The game was initially played in two drawn groups of 6, in which the top three in each case ultimately played the club champion in a final round of 6. The highly favored number 1 in the rankings, Thomas Handloser, ultimately prevailed very confidently without losing any games or sets. The fight for the runner-up championship was much more exciting. In the end, Chousein Amet and Christian Peter were tied on points and sets. It was only because of the direct comparison that Chousein Amet came out on top. Simon Hacker impressed with a strong performance that day, first reaching the runner-up doubles championship with his drawn doubles partner Chousein Amet and then even beating him in the singles competition. With his long pimples he caused problems for many even higher-ranked opponents; he only had no chance against veteran Martin Wenzel.
The remaining places 7th to 12th were played by the last three of the two groups of 6. And here too it couldn’t be any tighter. After everyone played everyone, 3 players were tied with 4:1 wins. Folker Königbauer was just ahead with 14:4 sets and took 7th place in the final ranking. Wolfgang Schobeß and Timo Schütt were tied, each 13:5, and in the end the direct comparison decided in favor of Wolfgang Schobeß (8th), Timo Schütt (9th).
Below are a few pictures of the individual final between Thomas Handloser and Chousein Amet, who impressed with numerous high-class rallies. And once again many thanks to the confident tournament management with Roland Arnold and Robert Haydu, who ensured that the competition ran smoothly.
